Over the past 5 years  the Nicholas County Community Foundation has awarded over $65,000 in scholarships to students from Nicholas County.  The foundation has awarded over $164,000 in scholarships and $1.3 million in grants since its beginning.

In Spring of 2014 the first of the Seelinger Entrepreneurial Scholarship recipients graduated from college, while eight other local students are continuing their education

NCCF currently has 7 scholarship funds, the  Paul Nettles Scholarship is awarded to a student athlete from Richwood High School, the James and Elizabeth Skidmore Memorial Scholarship focuses on academic achievement of a RHS student, the Tomsho Memorial Scholarship was established by Dr. Mark Tomsho is memory of his brother, it is awarded to a student who left school then returned to complete their GED or diploma and now wants to continue their education.

The Chris Yagel Memorial Sholarship is awarded to a student from NCHS who participates in soccer or band, the HC White Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to an NCHS student.  The Expanding Horizons Scholarship is for any Nicholas County studnt 13-18.
