Nicholas County Community Foundation Scholarship Application Fred Reed Expanding Horizons Scholarship Fund

Open to Nicholas County Residents who are thirteen (13) through eighteen (18) years of age in support of residential camping or learning experiences that will enhance or improve the students’ educational capacity, skill, talent or appreciation for cultural diversity. Eligible activities include but are not limited to programs such as educational camps, youth leadership programs and sports camps, with preference given to non-sectarian programs.

The Foundation is to select the students based on an annual essay contest in accordance with the Foundation’s Scholarship Guidelines. Criteria which may be considered include the applicant’s aptitude and interest in the program, the student’s desire to learn and improve oneself and the community as a whole, the camp materials, and the family’s financial means.

The undersigned hereby acknowledges the information provided on this application, including all attachments, is true and correct to the best of his/her knowledge.

Furthermore, all the information may be provided and disclosed to the Nicholas County Community Foundation, to the officers, directors of the Foundation and to any other person authorized by the Foundation to review the information. Verification may be obtained from any source. Falsification of information will result in the termination of any scholarship granted.

We hereby release from liability any person submitting information to the Foundation for use in the selection of scholarship recipients.
